Brook Trout Fishing Trips in Ontario

Often called the speckled trout, this is one of the best tasting and most beautiful trouts in the world. They can be difficult to catch in some parts of Ontario, but with the right conditions, it can be like catching fish in a barrel. Since the brook-lake trout takes a long time to grow, most of your catches will be in the one to three pound range, with some catches pushing six pounds. You will get the most success from spinner bait that is neon orange, green or silver. Silver and blue spoons or silver and green cleos also work. If you are going to use spinners and spoons, your best success will come in the spring and early summer. However, once you get into the warm summer months, Brook trout will be going after worms more than they will other types of bait.
